In 1985 Nicole Emanuel had started an ambitious hundred foot plus long project at the base of Potrero Hill. Fashioned in a social realism painting style and using historic images the mural was an instant hit with what was then a working class neighborhood. I joined the team perhaps halfway through and gained a lot of experience working with more experienced painters.
